On Monday (June 16), the Magnificent 7 index of US technology stocks rose 1.48% to 167.06 points. Meta Platforms closed up 2.90% at $702.12, surpassing the previous closing high of $701.86 on June 10; Nvidia rose 1.92% to $144.69, approaching the previous closing high of $145.00 on June 12; Amazon rose 1.89%, Google A rose 1.2%, Tesla rose 1.17%, Apple rose 1%, Microsoft rose 0.88%, all reaching new closing highs. In addition, AMD closed up 8.81%, Taiwan Semiconductor ADR rose 2.17%, Berkshire Hathaway's Class B shares, owned by Buffett, rose 0.55%, while Eli Lilly Pharmaceuticals closed down 1.44%.

On Monday, June 16th, global aviation industry ETF rose by 3.23%, semiconductor ETF rose by 2.49%, internet stock index ETF, technology industry ETF, global technology stock index ETF, financial industry ETF, and consumer discretionary ETF all rose by at least 1.10%, while energy industry ETF fell by 0.3% and utility ETF dropped by 0.49%. Among the 11 sectors in the S&P 500 index, telecommunications, information technology/technology, consumer discretionary, and financial sectors all rose by at least 1.13%, while the energy sector fell by 0.29%. In the S&P telecommunications sector, Warner Bros. Discovery rose by 7.28% - ranking second only to AMD (which rose by 8.81%) among the constituents of the Nasdaq 100 index. Charter Communications, on the other hand, fell by 3.47%, performing the worst and leading the constituents of the Nasdaq 100 index in decline.
