Bank of America warns: Foreign demand for US Treasury bonds is declining.
The Bank of America warned that foreign interest in US Treasuries may be weakening. Last week, custodial assets representing foreign demand sharply declined, with holdings of USD assets decreasing by over $60 billion since April. While recent US Treasury sales have eased current concerns, the Bank of America stated that the long-term trend is worrisome as more global investors reduce their exposure to US assets.
