Insiders say that the EU will not unilaterally lower the price ceiling for Russian oil from $60 to $45, and that this move is unlikely to receive support from the G7 group. The proposal to lower the price cap for Russian oil is included in the EU's 18th round of sanctions against Russia. European Commission President von der Leyen has stated that any decision to lower the price ceiling for Russian oil must be made in cooperation with G7 partners and will be discussed at the upcoming G7 summit in Canada.
