Former Deputy Secretary-General Zhou Dahong of the People's Government of Wuhan City was expelled from the party and dismissed from public office for serious violations of discipline and law.

With the approval of the Wuhan Municipal Party Committee, the Wuhan Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision has initiated an investigation into the serious violations of discipline and law by Zhou Dahong, former deputy secretary-general of the Wuhan Municipal People's Government, member of the party committee of the organization, and former director of the Wuhan City Urban Operation Management Center. According to the investigation, Zhou Dahong has deviated from his original mission, disregarded the spirit of the Central Eight-point Regulation, participated in illegal feasting and gambling; colluded with others to obstruct organizational investigation; accepted gifts, money, and other benefits that may affect the impartial execution of official duties without reporting personal matters as required by regulations; used his influence for the benefit of relatives in business activities; violated national laws, used his position for personal gain, and illegally accepted a large amount of money. Zhou Dahong has seriously violated political discipline, the spirit of the Central Eight-point Regulation, organizational discipline, and integrity discipline of the Communist Party, which constitutes a serious violation of duty and may involve bribery crimes. Furthermore, Zhou has not restrained his behavior after the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the nature of his violations is serious, and the impact is detrimental, therefore he should be dealt with severely. In accordance with relevant regulations such as the "Disciplinary Regulations of the Communist Party of China," the "Supervision Law of the People's Republic of China," and the "Administrative Sanctions Law for Public Officials of the People's Republic of China," after review and approval by the Wuhan Municipal Committee of the CPC, Zhou Dahong has been expelled from the Party; he has been dismissed from his public office by the Wuhan Municipal Supervisory Commission; his ill-gotten gains from violations and crimes have been confiscated; and his suspected criminal issues have been transferred to the procuratorial organs for investigation and prosecution, along with the confiscated assets.
