Sinopharm A-Boost Medical: Approval for Paclitaxel-Coated Balloon Catheter for Vertebral Artery Expansion

Sinore Medical announced that the group has received approval from the China National Medical Products Administration for the registration of the AcoArt Verbena drug-coated balloon catheter for vertebral artery paclitaxel. This product is used for patients with symptomatic vertebral artery extracranial segment stenosis with a narrowing degree 70% in the initial segment of the vertebral artery, and repeated symptoms of vertebral basilar blood supply area after drug treatment. Clinical trial results show that the target lesion re-stenosis rate in the test group using AcoArt Verbena at 12 months post-surgery was 13.04%, significantly lower than the 37.31% in the control group, with statistically significant efficacy established. The approval of AcoArt Verbena will lead the treatment of vertebral artery stenosis into a new era of "intervention without implantation".
