The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced in a statement on the morning of May 31st local time that earlier that day, in a airstrike carried out in southern Lebanon, they killed a military commander of the Lebanese Hezbollah named "Mohammad Ali Jamul". The IDF stated that the commander was in charge of a rocket launch site in southern Lebanon and had previously directed multiple rocket attacks against Israel.
