The UK has banned the sale of disposable electronic cigarettes.
Britain is set to implement a ban on disposable e-cigarettes on June 1st to address the spread of e-cigarette use among young people. According to Agence France-Presse on May 30th, Mary Creagh, the Deputy Secretary of the Department for Environment in the UK, stated that Britain will prohibit shops and supermarkets from selling disposable e-cigarettes. Offenders could face a fine of 200 pounds, and repeat offenders may face up to 2 years in prison. Creagh said: "For a long time, disposable e-cigarettes have been thrown all over the place, damaging street cleanliness and causing our children to become addicted to nicotine." In addition, fire departments have warned that when disposable e-cigarettes are discarded at will, they can easily ignite other rubbish, leading to tragic fires.
