More than 8,000 hospitals have opened pediatric outpatient clinics, providing basic medical care to protect children's health.
In recent years, the health level of children in our country has been continuously improving. In 2024, the national infant mortality rate and child mortality rate under 5 years old dropped to 4.0 and 5.6 respectively, reaching the best historical level and ranking among the top in high-income countries worldwide. The National Health Commission has designated the years 2025-2027 as the "Year of Pediatric and Mental Health Services" to promote the seamless flow of high-quality children's medical resources and focus on improving pediatric service supply. Currently, there are over 8,000 comprehensive hospitals nationwide that can provide pediatric outpatient or inpatient services, 98% of county hospitals have established pediatric departments, and over 80% of primary healthcare institutions can provide diagnosis and treatment services for common childhood illnesses.
