Cadence's latest announcement, on May 23, stated that they have received notification from the Bureau of Industry and Security of the U.S. Department of Commerce. When transactions involve exporting, re-exporting, or transferring electronic design automation software and technology classified under export control classification numbers 3D991 and 3E991 in the Commerce Control List while the parties are located in China, a license must be obtained beforehand. In response to this requirement, Cadence stated that strong customer design activities continue to drive global business momentum. The new requirements are complex, and the company is currently communicating with BIS for further clarification, while also assessing its impact on the business and financial performance.
