The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced today that designated parking spaces within the restricted area of the Shenzhen Bay Port and Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port will be opened for use by two taxi fleets currently operating on a trial basis, to facilitate them in picking up passengers with reservations. Passengers can book trips through the taxi fleet's mobile application or other online booking channels, and board the taxi at the designated parking spaces. A spokesperson for the Transport Department of the SAR Government stated that these measures aim to facilitate citizens and travelers in using high-quality taxi services, as well as allowing taxi operators to collect operational data and passenger feedback during the trial phase, in order to provide better and more reliable services when officially launched. The two taxi fleets currently provide approximately 300 taxis for trial operation, and these taxis will be issued with restricted area permits by the Transport Department, with their vehicles featuring distinctive designs or markings of the respective taxi fleets for easy identification by the public.
