According to market news, Taimeng Investment Group is rumored to be forming a 50 billion yuan fund to acquire 48 Wanda Plazas under Wanda Commercial, with Taimeng leading the consortium including Tencent Holdings, Sunshine Life Insurance, and JD Capital. The acquisition is expected to be completed through a special fund platform. Taimeng will lead the investment and plans to contribute around 5 billion yuan to subscribe to the fund's subordinate shares, assuming the main risks and gaining excess returns. A syndicate of state-owned banks will provide 30 billion yuan in credit loans, while the remaining 15 billion yuan will be raised through mezzanine financing channels, with the aim of attracting various entities such as insurance funds and industrial funds to participate. An insider stated that the 50 billion yuan funds generated from this transaction will significantly alleviate the liquidity pressure on Dalian Wanda Group. After the completion of the transaction, Wanda Commercial Management will continue to be responsible for the daily operations of these plazas, but the ownership of Wanda Plaza will be completely transferred. The transaction is expected to be officially completed in the second half of 2025.
