The strongest rainfall in the south this year is approaching, beware of the risk of disasters caused by heavy rain.
According to the Central Meteorological Observatory, since May, the southern region has experienced frequent heavy rainfall processes. Since the 13th, there have been three consecutive strong rainfall processes in Jiangnan, South China, and Guizhou. The precipitation in Guizhou, most of Guangxi, northern and western Guangdong, northern Jiangxi, southern Hunan, and southern Zhejiang is 30-80% above normal levels, with some areas exceeding 1-2 times the normal amount. It is expected that from May 27th to 29th, a new round of heavy rainfall will occur in the southern region. Meteorological experts pointed out that this strong rainfall process in the south will be the strongest this year, with a concentrated heavy rainfall area, which overlaps with the period from the 21st to the 24th. Some stations in northern Guangxi and northern Guangdong may have daily precipitation amounts approaching or exceeding the historical extreme values for May.
