The fifth BEYOND International Technology Innovation Expo was held from May 21st to 24th. At the closing ceremony, Jack Ma, Chairman of Alibaba Group, stated that Asia has greatly benefited from global free trade, especially economies such as China and Vietnam that are focused on manufacturing. Recently, some governments have attempted to dismantle the bridges we have built between Asia and other regions of the world. Jack Ma mentioned that the trade volume between China and other Southeast Asian countries is now comparable to that between China and the United States. He believes that there is great potential for business activities within Asia. Additionally, Europe still represents a huge opportunity for Asian businesses. "Europeans have a completely different cultural mindset when dealing with Asian businesses. Americans tend to think in black and white terms, while Europeans can understand subtle differences. European culture, with its long history, shares some similarities with Asian culture. I think this is another region that Asian businesses can explore," Jack Ma said.
