The EU and United Kingdom announce a new round of sanctions against Russia.

The EU and the UK announced on the 20th that they would impose a new round of sanctions on Russia, focusing on the energy, military, and financial sectors. The European Council released a press statement on the 20th, formally adopting the 17th round of sanctions against Russia, including sanctions on 189 Russian "shadow fleet" ships, prohibiting them from docking in EU ports and ceasing related maritime services. This is the largest set of sanctions imposed on the "shadow fleet" to date, with a total of 342 Russian ships currently affected by EU sanctions. The UK Foreign Office announced on the 20th that they would impose a new round of sanctions on Russia, covering key sectors such as military, energy, and finance, as well as individuals and organizations involved in launching information warfare against Ukraine. According to the UK Foreign Office statement, the UK is coordinating with the EU in implementing this new round of sanctions on Russia. UK Foreign Secretary Raab stated in the declaration that the UK is calling on Russia to agree to an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in order to initiate negotiations.
