According to the Omaha World-Herald, Warren Buffett will not attend the Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting in 2026, but instead hopes to give the spotlight to his successor Abel after his retirement. According to the Wall Street Journal, Buffett plans to sit with other members of the board of directors. Two weeks ago, the 94-year-old Buffett announced at the end of this year's shareholder meeting that he would step down as CEO of the company he founded himself, but would still serve as chairman of the board. The Omaha World-Herald quoted Buffett's daughter Susie as saying that Buffett's commitment to the company is "unwavering", he has pledged not to sell his Berkshire stock after his death, and will devote it all to a charitable trust fund.
