A woman in Henan was forcibly taken to the hospital for treatment, official announcement.
On May 17, the Health Commission of Yuzhou City reported that on the morning of May 16, at 11:05, the 120 Emergency Command Center of Yuzhou City received a call from the public, stating that their daughter had a history of anxiety and depression, refused medication and even became violent, and requested that the patient be taken away for treatment. The emergency medical vehicle from Yuzhou City Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital arrived at the scene at 11:32 and confirmed that the patient had been treated and hospitalized at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University multiple times. Due to the patient's manic episode and refusal to cooperate, temporary forced measures were taken with the consent of the family members present to avoid harm to other people on the scene, and the patient was accompanied by family members throughout the treatment at the hospital. During this time, the medical staff used improper restraint measures, which resulted in a negative impact in the society. The Health Commission of Yuzhou City quickly conducted an investigation and ordered the hospital involved to suspend the doctor on duty, Xie, and dismiss the staff member, Gao, and to conduct further investigations and actions. The Health Commission of Yuzhou City will carry out special governance within the city's health system to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
