Zhejiang Marine Police successfully seized 1 fishing vessel for illegal operations.

On the evening of May 15th, the Wenzhou Maritime Police Bureau in Zhejiang successfully intercepted a fishing boat engaged in illegal operations in the waters near Cangnan, and captured two suspects on the scene. At around 22:00 on the night of the incident, when the enforcement boat was conducting nighttime patrol tasks, it found a metal-hulled fishing boat sailing at low speed without activating AIS and lighting devices, suspected of illegal fishing. The enforcement boat immediately approached the fishing boat and shouted to identify itself and request it to stop for inspection. The fishing boat ignored the warning and orders of the enforcement officers, refused to stop, and tried to flee in a zigzag manner. The enforcement boat immediately activated the emergency response plan and reinforced its forces to surround the fishing boat. The fishing boat quickly changed direction and violently collided with the enforcement boat, seriously threatening the safety of the enforcement boat and officers. After more than an hour of pursuit, the enforcement officers overcame the adverse sea conditions, seized the opportunity, and decisively controlled the fishing boat. Currently, the vessel involved has been detained and the case is under further investigation.
