On May 16th, Cui Dongshu, Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association, released an article analyzing the lithium battery market for new energy vehicles in April 2025. The article showed that in April, China's installed capacity of power batteries was 54.1 GWh, a decrease of 4.3% compared to the previous month and an increase of 52.8% compared to the same period last year. In terms of market share of battery companies, CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited) ranked first, followed by BYD, but the gap between the two companies continues to narrow.
