The Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue a blue warning for severe convective weather at 10 o'clock on May 16th.
It is expected that from 14:00 on May 16 to 14:00 on May 17, some areas in the western part of northeast China, central and northern part of North China, will experience thunderstorms with strong winds of level 8 or above, or hail. Among them, some areas in the southeast of Inner Mongolia, northern part of Hebei, northern part of Beijing, northern part of Tianjin, and some other areas will experience thunderstorms with winds of level 10 or above, along with large hail, with the maximum wind force reaching level 11. Some areas in the southern part of northeast China, northern part of North China, northern part of Jiangnan, South China, and southeastern part of Southwest China will experience short-term heavy rainfall with hourly precipitation exceeding 20 millimeters. In some areas, such as the southern part of Hunan, northeastern part of Jiangxi, northwestern part of Fujian, southern part of Guizhou, northern part of Guangxi, northwestern part of Guangdong, the hourly rainfall may exceed 50 millimeters. It is expected that the main impact period of severe convective weather will be from this afternoon to the early hours of the night.
