Chicago soybean futures fell more than 2%, soybean oil fell by about 5.7%, investors are concerned that the biofuel production in the United States under the Trump administration will be lower than expected.
On Thursday, the Bloomberg Grain Index fell by 0.38% to 30.8853 points in the closing session in New York. It had previously hit a daily low of 30.6269 points at 23:44 Beijing time. CBOT corn futures rose by 0.62% and CBOT wheat futures rose by 1.43%. CBOT soybean futures fell by 2.11% to $10.5314 per bushel, remaining in a downward trend throughout the day. It traded in a narrow range near $10.65 at the opening of the US stock market, but then dropped quickly after the market opened, hitting a daily low of $10.46 at 00:17. Soybean meal futures rose by 1.47% while soybean oil futures fell by 5.68%, experiencing the largest drop in two years after a "downward gap opening" leading to low-level narrow fluctuations throughout the day.
