According to the WeChat official account of the "European Union Chamber of Commerce in China," the European Commission officially announced on May 15th that it believes TikTok has not fulfilled its obligations under the Digital Services Act in terms of setting up the advertising library and disclosing information, especially in the aspect of advertising transparency where there are "significant shortcomings." The European Commission emphasized that this determination is intended to formally notify TikTok of its current compliance issues and has not yet reached a final conclusion. If it is ultimately confirmed that TikTok has violated the regulations, the European Commission may make a formal decision and impose fines of up to 6% of its global annual turnover. In response to this, TikTok stated that it is reviewing the results of the European Commission's investigation and is continuing to work towards fulfilling its obligations under the Digital Services Act.
