On May 13th, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Emergency Management, Xu Jiaai, met with the Director of the National Disaster Risk Management Agency of Colombia, Carlos, in Beijing. Both sides exchanged views on deepening practical cooperation in the field of emergency management. Xu Jiaai stated that they will focus on promoting comprehensive disaster reduction, monitoring and early warning, risk assessment, disaster prevention, and emergency preparedness in the field of disaster governance, and will promote practical cooperation to deepen and solidify the international cooperation between China and Colombia in natural disaster prevention and emergency management. Carlos expressed willingness to sign a cooperation memorandum of understanding with China to promote the comprehensive development of cooperation between the two sides at an early date.
