Hungarian Foreign Minister: EU termination of Russian energy import plan will seriously damage European economy.
Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Szijjrt stated that the European Commission's plan to terminate energy imports from Russia would deal a deadly blow to the European economy. Szijjrt pointed out at an international automotive conference in Budapest that, due to EU sanctions against Russia, "the economic growth model based on cutting-edge technology and cheap energy resources is a thing of the past." Szijjrt said, "Today, energy prices on the European continent are two to four times higher than in other parts of the world. Nevertheless, the European Commission still wants to deal a deadly blow by pushing for an unprecedented increase in energy prices in the Central European region. In fact, the European Commission wants to ban energy imports from Russia."
