As a flagship project of the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative between China and Peru, the "Qian Kai-Shanghai" maritime route has seen a stable growth in freight volume and import-export value since its opening in December last year. According to statistics from Shanghai Customs, in the first four months of this year, a total of 48 sailings have been operated, with a total of 41,000 tons of goods and a value of 1.02 billion yuan in import and export. With the boost from this route, Shanghai's foreign trade import and export value with Peru has increased by over sixty percent.
