Wang Yi meets with Brazilian Foreign Minister Vieira and President's Chief Special Advisor Amorim

On May 12, 2025, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Brazilian Foreign Minister Vieira and President's Chief Special Advisor Amorim in Beijing. The two sides reviewed the frequent exchanges between the two countries' leaders in recent years, communicated deeply on implementing the results of President Xi Jinping's visit to Brazil last year, and prepared for President Lula's visit to China, especially the upcoming important meeting between the two countries' leaders. They unanimously agreed to promote the construction of a China-Brazil community of shared future in accordance with the strategic guidance of the two countries' leaders, adhere to multilateralism, uphold internationally recognized rules, jointly defend the legitimate rights and interests of the global South, and make contributions to promoting world peace, stability, and development. The two sides also exchanged views on the Ukraine crisis and expressed support for direct dialogue and negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, and will continue to play the role of the "Friends of Peace" group to gather more international consensus for promoting a political solution to the crisis.
