Severe convective weather causes wall collapse, official report from Baise, Guangxi: 3 dead, 7 injured.
The joint investigation team of the "419" wall collapse accident in Youjiang District, Baise City, Guangxi Province released a statement on the accident. At around 5 pm on April 19th, Youjiang District of Baise City was hit by extreme severe convective weather. According to meteorological monitoring data, the gusty winds reached up to level 11 with a wind speed of 28.9 meters per second, accompanied by short periods of heavy rainfall and hail. The severe weather caused a wall to collapse at the mango demonstration site in Youjiang District, hitting 10 villagers who were attending a funeral to varying degrees. After the incident, the Youjiang District Committee and the District People's Government responded quickly, organizing rescue teams to rush to the scene, carry out emergency rescue operations, and timely seal off the site to prevent secondary disasters. Despite efforts to rescue, 3 people unfortunately died due to severe injuries, and 7 people were injured. Currently, 6 of the injured have been discharged from the hospital, while 1 person remains hospitalized for treatment with stable vital signs.
