Macao Monetary Authority: The total amount of transactions made with mobile payment tools in the first quarter reached 7.9 billion Macanese patacas, a year-on-year increase of 8.7%.

According to the Intelligent Financial APP, on May 7, the statistics released by the Monetary Authority of Macau showed that in the first quarter of 2025, the number of transactions and transaction amounts of local mobile payment tools both recorded year-on-year growth. On the other hand, the total amount of credit card and debit card transactions decreased year on year. The number of transactions of local mobile payment tools in the first quarter of 2025 was 90.39 million, an increase of 11.6% year-on-year; the total transaction amount was 7.9 billion Macau dollars, an increase of 8.7% year-on-year, with an average transaction amount of 87.8 yuan. As of the end of March 2025, there were 108,749 mobile payment terminals and QR code signboards in use locally.
