Delta Airlines and Korean Air will acquire a 25% stake in Canadian WestJet Airlines for a total price of 5.5 billion US dollars.

Delta Airlines and Korean Air will invest $330 million and $220 million respectively to acquire 15% and 10% of WestJet Airlines. After the transaction is completed, Delta Airlines has the option and intention to sell and transfer its 2.3% stake in WestJet Airlines to their joint venture partners Air France KLM in order to obtain $50 million in funding. This separate transaction still requires approval from Air France KLM.
