Recovery treatment at home can now be reimbursed. Shanghai clarifies 51 items of home hospital bed services.

Data shows that by the end of 2024, the number of home hospital beds in Shanghai has reached 91,000, with an increase of 3,000 beds in the past year. According to the newly implemented "Shanghai Family Hospital Bed Service Work Standards", a total of 51 items of home hospital bed services under nine categories have been clearly defined, which are eligible for medical insurance reimbursement. Of particular note is the rehabilitation therapy, which was previously lacking in home hospital bed services. Now, rehabilitation after a stroke, as well as rehabilitation after orthopedic surgery, can be completed at home hospital beds.
