US lawmakers pressure Treasury and Justice Departments to ask Trump to clarify his relationship with Binance.
Maryland's Chris Van Hollen and Massachusetts' Elizabeth Warren, Democratic senators, are demanding federal officials provide answers on the relationship between the cryptocurrency giant Binance and digital asset companies connected to the Trump family. In a letter sent to Treasury Secretary Yellen and Attorney General Garland on Friday, the senators expressed concerns about President Trump's connection to an exchange that was convicted of violating U.S. money laundering and sanctions laws. Senators Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island and Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut also signed the letter. The day before this letter was sent, Senate Democrats rejected a long-awaited stablecoin bill.
