According to the China Fortune Financial app, after a short-term surge during the end of April spring break and Easter holiday, the number of initial jobless claims in the United States showed a downward trend last week. According to data released by the US Department of Labor on Thursday, the seasonally adjusted number of initial jobless claims dropped by 13,000 to 228,000 people in the week ending May 3, which was closely in line with the median forecast of economists. The number of ongoing jobless claims also fell to 1.88 million last week.
