Germany's new Interior Minister has ordered the rejection of illegal immigrants and hopes to deploy thousands of police officers at the country's borders, on the first day of the new government led by immigration hardliner Horst Seehofer. Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt has cancelled the order allowing undocumented third-country nationals to enter the country since 2015. Dobrindt is a member of the conservative alliance party. Dobrindt also plans to increase the number of police officers at the border by up to 3,000, in order to curb illegal immigration, which will bring the total number of border police to 14,000.
