On May 7th, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) appeal against the ruling of Microsoft's $6.9 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard failed, with the appellate court upholding the dismissal ruling. In 2023, the FTC requested a preliminary injunction to prevent the two companies from completing the deal. The district court judge rejected the FTC's request, leading to the second appeal by the Federal Trade Commission after the ruling was issued.
