German Bank: Uncertainty in US policy may lead to long-term decline in the US dollar.
Ulrich Leuchtmann, an analyst at Commerzbank, stated that due to the imbalanced policy mix of Trump, the dollar may continue to decline in the long term. He said that Trump's recent remarks pose an implicit threat to the independence of the Federal Reserve, "just one of the few channels through which the dollar may weaken." Trump announced on Sunday that a 100% tariff will be levied on foreign-made films, indicating that tariffs are still a threat. In addition, there is a rising risk of US treasury yields, especially considering the expansionary fiscal policy of the United States. Leuchtmann believes that the rebound of the dollar may be temporary.
