Ideal, Xiaomi, NIO, and Xiaopeng change their stance on "autonomous driving" to become assisted driving.
During the May 1st holiday in 2025, reporters visited several popular new energy brand stores and found that "smart driving," once the "main selling point" in promotions, is gradually fading out as the core message in car companies' product promotions, and has even become a hidden term of "I'll only tell you when you ask." Among the car stores visited by the reporters, except for a few stores that still use "smart driving" as a promotional strategy, most car brand stores such as Ideal, Xiaomi, NIO, Avita, and Xiaopeng have undergone significant changes in promoting their products. Today, Xiaomi adjusted the wording on the ordering page for the SU7 new car, renaming "smart driving" to "assisted driving." The Xiaomi Pilot Pro installed in the standard version of the Xiaomi SU7 has been renamed from "Xiaomi Smart Drive Pro" to "Xiaomi Assisted Driving Pro"; the Xiaomi HAD installed in the Xiaomi SU7 Pro and Xiaomi SU7 Max has been renamed from "Xiaomi Smart Drive Max" to "Xiaomi End-to-End Assisted Driving."
