Bongfaan chaired a series of meetings between ASEAN and the finance ministers and central bank governors of China, Japan, and South Korea, and held multiple bilateral meetings.

On May 4, 2025, the 28th ASEAN Plus Three Finance Ministers' and Central Bank Governors' Meeting was held in Milan, Italy. The meeting mainly discussed global and regional macroeconomic situations, 10+3 regional financial cooperation, and issued a joint statement. Finance Minister Lan Fuan attended and co-chaired some of the meeting sessions as the joint chair, while Deputy Minister Liao Min accompanied him. Prior to the meeting, Lan Fuan also chaired the meeting of the finance ministers and central bank governors of China, Japan, and South Korea, as well as the first closed-door exchange meeting of 10+3 finance ministers, where he highlighted China's fiscal policies in balancing economic growth promotion and maintaining fiscal sustainability in the medium to long term, and addressing challenges related to aging populations. During the meeting, Lan Fuan also held bilateral meetings or exchanges with Malaysia's Second Finance Minister Amir Hamzah, Indonesia's Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, Japan's Minister of Finance Katsunobu Kato, and exchanged views on global and regional macroeconomic situations, 10+3 financial cooperation, and key bilateral cooperation topics.
