Lanzhou Central Meteorological Observatory issued a blue warning for a sandstorm at 10:48 on May 3, 2025: It is expected that from the night of the 3rd to the 4th, the five cities in the west of the river, Baiyin, Dingxi, Pingliang, Qingyang and other cities in the northern part of Lanzhou will have 5-6 level northwest winds, gusts of 7-9 levels; among them, the eastern part of Jiuquan, the northern part of Wuwei, the northern part of Baiyin, and the northern part of Qingyang will have 6-7 level northwest winds, gusts of 8-10 levels; the above-mentioned areas will be accompanied by sand and dust, with sandstorms in the eastern part of Jiuquan and the northern part of Wuwei; due to the spread of sand and dust, there will be floating dust in the southern part of Lanzhou and in the cities of Linxia, Tianshui, and Longnan.
