The start of the 2025 International Consumer Season.

On May 1st, the opening ceremony of the "2025 International Consumer Season and the Sixth Shanghai 55 Shopping Festival" was held in Shanghai. Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng, Deputy Minister of Commerce Sheng Qiuping, and Deputy Director of CCTV Wang Xiaozhen attended the event. The 2025 International Consumer Season is a key activity in the second quarter of the "Shop in China" campaign. The Ministry of Commerce, together with relevant departments, will closely combine promoting consumption with benefiting the people, adhere to the dual-drive of "policies + activities," coordinate the implementation of optimized outbound tax refund policies, focus on international boutique products and Chinese trendy products, organize the launch of new products, introduce measures for the convenience and benefit of the people, innovate diverse consumer scenes, help domestic residents and inbound tourists to purchase global quality goods and enjoy high-quality services, further promote the improvement of consumption quality, expand inbound consumption, and provide strong support for the continuous recovery and improvement of the economy.
