Local officials in the Pakistani-controlled Kashmir region said that due to the tense situation in Kashmir, more than 1,000 schools in the Pakistani-controlled Kashmir region will be closed for 10 days starting from May 1. A shooting incident occurred near the scenic town of Pahalgam in the Indian-controlled Kashmir region on April 22, where three armed individuals opened fire on tourists, resulting in 26 deaths and at least 17 injuries.
