Amazon plans to build dozens of warehouses in rural areas of the United States by the end of next year to expand its business and reduce dependence on other carriers. The company says it expects to have around 210 delivery stations operational, as part of a broad effort to establish a dedicated rural delivery network starting in 2020. Amazon spokesperson Alexa Clark stated that as of the end of 2023, the company operates around 70 such facilities, but she declined to disclose the current number in operation. Amazon says it will invest a total of $4 billion in the project by the end of 2026.
