On April 30th, Yum China announced on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that its total revenue for the first quarter of 2025 increased by 1% year-on-year to $3 billion; a net addition of 247 new stores, with franchised stores accounting for 25% of the increase, with a net addition of 62 stores; diluted earnings per share increased by 8% year-on-year to $0.77, reaching a new high for the first quarter; the total number of members for KFC and Pizza Hut exceeded 540 million, an increase of 12% compared to last year. In terms of performance outlook, the company expects to add approximately 1600 to 1800 new stores in the 2025 fiscal year, with capital expenditures between $700 million and $800 million. The company expects the proportion of franchised stores in the net addition of KFC and Pizza Hut stores to gradually increase to 40-50% and 20-30% respectively in the coming years.
