Lebanon's president calls for the Israeli army to withdraw from the occupied areas in southern Lebanon.

According to a statement from the Lebanese Presidency on April 30 local time, Lebanese President Aoun met with the Chairman of the Lebanon-Israel Ceasefire Supervisory Committee, Jasper Jeffers, and his successor, Michael Lini, on that day. Aoun emphasized the necessity for the Lebanon-Israel Ceasefire Supervisory Committee to pressure Israel to stop its aggression and called for the Israeli army to withdraw from the five positions it controls in southern Lebanon and to release Lebanese prisoners of war. Aoun stated that the Lebanese army is fully fulfilling its duties in southern Lebanon, especially in the area south of the Litani River, continuously confiscating weapons and ammunition, and eliminating local armed entities.
