According to the Ministry of Commerce, the national market for essential goods is well supplied and prices are generally stable before the May Day holiday. According to the Ministry of Commerce's big data monitoring, last week, the trading volume of fruits, meat, eggs, and vegetables in 200 large-scale agricultural and sideline product wholesale markets nationwide increased by 1.9%, 1.8%, 0.8%, and 0.6% respectively compared to the previous week. On April 29, the prices of grain, edible oil, and pork remained basically stable compared to a week ago, while the prices of vegetables, eggs, mutton, and beef all slightly decreased. Before the holiday, the Ministry of Commerce deployed various regions to do a good job in monitoring the market and ensuring the supply of essential goods during the May Day holiday, and initiated a daily monitoring system for essential goods during the holiday. It guided commercial circulation enterprises to strengthen the connection between production and sales, increase stocking efforts, diversify product types based on the holiday consumption characteristics and personalized needs of residents, increase the supply of popular holiday goods such as meat, fruits, and aquatic products, improve the replenishment and shelving frequency, and ensure an adequate and stable supply in the holiday market.
