The journalist learned from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs that in order to continuously promote the reduction and substitution of feed grains, promote the reduction of feed consumption and costs in the livestock industry, and increase efficiency, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs recently issued the "Implementation Plan for Feed Reduction in Livestock Industry". The plan proposes measures in three aspects of overall promotion of efficiency, sourcing, and optimizing structure: Strive to reduce the average feed consumption of standardized scale livestock production by more than 0.2 kilograms per kilogram of animal products by 2030 compared to 2023, with a reduction of over 7%. The capacity of non-grain feed resources such as microbial protein feed, table scraps, agricultural by-products, insect protein feed, and animal protein feed should reach over 10 million tons, and the yield of high-quality forage should increase by over 40 million tons compared to 2023. Build a number of moderately sized, integrated farming, ecologically cycling, and intelligently managed family farms or standardized breeding grounds. The proportion of grain consumption in the feed consumed by the national livestock industry should be reduced to around 60%, and the proportion of soybean meal consumption should be reduced to around 10%.
