On April 29th local time, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with South African Foreign Minister Ramaphosa in Rio de Janeiro. Wang Yi said that the United States prioritizes its own interests, practices protectionism, and arbitrarily imposes tariffs on the world, including Africa, which is typical of unilateral bullying behavior. China will take necessary countermeasures, not only to defend its legitimate rights and interests, but also to uphold the common interests of the global South.
