On Tuesday, the world's largest retailer, Walmart, rejected the idea of listing fees related to Trump's tariffs next to product prices. Earlier, Amazon had prepared to take this measure, which angered the White House and condemned it as "hostile political behavior." A spokesperson for Amazon later clarified that the idea had been considered for their discount shopping website, Haul, but "it was never approved and will not happen." A spokesperson for Walmart stated, "We will not list the cost details of products on our website." Despite the uncertainty of Trump's aggressive tariffs, the spokesperson said Walmart is "working to keep prices of as many products as possible at the lowest level." Earlier this month, Walmart's Chief Financial Officer stated that over two-thirds of the products sold in Walmart's U.S. stores are "manufactured or assembled" in the U.S.
