The nonferrous metal industry had a good start in the first quarter.
On the 29th, it was learned from the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association that the nonferrous metals industry in China had a good start in the first quarter of this year: the production of ten nonferrous metals increased by 2% year-on-year, the import of key mineral products for foreign trade continued to grow, and the revenue and profits of large-scale nonferrous enterprises maintained growth. "In the first quarter of this year, the nonferrous metals industry in China showed strong development resilience in a complex environment," said Chen Xuesen, Vice President and Spokesperson of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, at a press conference on the same day. Data shows that in the first quarter of this year, the production of ten nonferrous metals was 19.851 million tons. Among them, refined copper production was 3.536 million tons, electrolytic aluminum production was 11.066 million tons, with year-on-year increases of 5% and 3.2%, respectively. In the first quarter, the total import and export trade of nonferrous metals was 88.38 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 8.7%. Although the total trade volume decreased, the import of key mineral products for foreign trade continued to grow. It is understood that in the first quarter, China's imports of copper ore and concentrate were 7.108 million tons, an increase of 1.8% year-on-year.
