The US Department of State has approved the sale of Patriot missile defense systems to Romania.

The US Department of Defense said in a statement on Monday that the US State Department has approved the possible sale of Patriot missile defense systems and related equipment to Romania for a price of $280 million. The Pentagon added that the primary contractors would be RTX Corporation and Lockheed Martin Corporation.
