Sichuan: The number of outbound tourists processing tax refunds for leaving the country in the first quarter increased by 204.78% compared to the same period last year.
On April 27, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the General Administration of Customs, the State Administration of Taxation, and the Civil Aviation Administration of China jointly issued a notice on further optimizing the departure tax refund policy to expand inbound consumption. The State Administration of Taxation revised the "Measures for the Management of Tax Refunds for Overseas Tourists Shopping" to further introduce measures to facilitate departure tax refunds. It is understood that there are currently more than 400 departure tax refund shops distributed throughout Sichuan, attracting overseas tourists to shop. In the first quarter, the number of overseas tourists processing departure tax refunds in Sichuan increased by 204.78% year-on-year, the sales amount of tax refund shops increased by 200.91% year-on-year, and the amount of tax refunds processed increased by 211.64% year-on-year. The issuance of the notice is conducive to further stimulating the consumption enthusiasm of overseas tourists.
