Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Security, Yu Jiadong: Next step will focus on expanding job opportunities, strengthening policies, preserving key areas, improving skills, and enhancing service quality to ensure overall stability in the employment situation.
Yu Jiadong, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, introduced at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office on April 28 that in the first quarter, the overall employment situation remained stable, with 3.08 million new urban jobs created nationwide, an increase of 50,000 compared to the same period last year, which is ahead of the schedule. At the same time, the foundation for economic recovery and improvement still needs to be further consolidated, as external shocks are increasing. The United States has successively imposed high tariffs, causing difficulties for some foreign trade enterprises and affecting the employment of some workers, leading to continued increase in employment pressure. Yu Jiadong stated that in the next step, they will resolutely implement the deployment of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, bravely face difficulties, push forward under pressure, fully expand job opportunities, strengthen policies, protect key areas, improve skills, and provide better services to ensure the overall stability of the employment situation.
